The Brief
Responsible for delivering some of the most iconic Primary Care Trust buildings of the past decade, developer Building Better Health required a property PR agency that could work with its supply chain to deliver a campaign to raise the profile of its work and promote inspiring public sector architecture. They appointed Fabrick to help them achieve this.
The Solution
Building Better Health is a private sector developer, partnering with a number of Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) to deliver schemes under the NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) framework. A vehicle for improving and developing frontline primary and community care facilities, NHS LIFT allows PCTs to invest in new premises in new locations, not merely reproduce existing types of service. This has seen the creation of amenities that bring together local facilities such as doctors, dentists, physiotherapy and children services, all under one roof, rather than individual services at different locations scattered across a London borough. It is providing patients with modern integrated health services in high quality, fit for purpose primary care facilities.
Fabrick created a strategic communication plan to maximise publicity for each project. This included securing features and press coverage in key health and construction publications, as well as the wider property media and architectural press including RIBA Journal, The Architects Journal, BD (Building Design) and Architecture Today.
Securing the PR opportunities required close collaboration between Fabrick and the PCTs and Building Better Health’s supply chain of architects. This saw Fabrick work in collaboration with architects Penoyre & Prasad, Henley Halebrown, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and Rogers Stirk + Harbour. We also worked in partnership with the client’s contractor, Willmott Dixon, consulting engineers, Cundall, structural engineers Price & Myers and quantity surveyors David Langdon.
In addition to PR activities, Fabrick also suggested and provided assistance with the creation of award entries, helping Building Better Health win numerous industry accolades. We also coordinated and commissioned architectural photography of completed projects.
