Spotlighting the right person, at the right time and at the right venue

As one of the UK’s leading mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design and sustainability consultants, Whitecode Consulting takes pride in driving innovation and energy efficiency standards across the sector. Conscious of the impact that decarbonisation is going to have on the built environment in the coming months and years, the company wants to be at the forefront of discussions, leveraging its extensive and unrivalled expertise to shape the future of the industry and work alongside others to drive meaningful change. To achieve this, it asked us to secure it coveted and influential speaking opportunities at some of the built environment’s biggest events.

“A real conversation always involves an invitation”

Run since 2018, the Building Services Forum – organised by Building Services & Environmental Engineer – brings together industry experts and decision makers to discuss the major retrofitting and sustainability challenges facing the sector. With approximately 29 million homes and the majority of non-residential buildings needing significant decarbonisation if they are to meet the UK’s 2050 net zero targets, this is rapidly becoming a major talking-point across the industry. Therefore, securing Whitecode Consulting a speaker slot at such an event would provide the company with a platform from which to directly engage with and build relationships with other key decision makers and their target audience.

When Alex speaks, people listen

Utilising its strong working relationship with BSEE and effectively showcasing Alex Hill’s impressive sustainability and MEP design knowledge and expertise through engaging and informative promotional material, Fabrick secured Alex a coveted speaker slot at the Building Services Forum at The Building Centre in London on 24th September 2025.

With the event focusing heavily on the role of ‘retrofit, renewables, AI and other new technologies in the built environment’, Alex’s presentation saw him break down the ever-changing energy compliance landscape and detail the Future Homes Standard before illustrating the significant gap between expected performance and measured performance for non-domestic buildings.

Alex also took the opportunity to underline to the various decision makers and industry leaders how despite heat pumps’ increasing popularity due to their reduced carbon emissions, high energy efficiency and lower energy bills, such implementation also carries considerable disadvantages around the financial outlay for installation, acoustic constraints and the cost per kWh.

As Alex is an exceptional orator, it was no surprise that his presentation was incredibly well-received. In fact, the Sales Director at Baxi – who had also spoken earlier in the day – invited Alex to the company’s Sales meeting because of the strength of Alex’s presentation.

Since then, Fabrick has worked closely with Alex to secure more speaking opportunities. To that end, he took part in an insightful CIBSE roundtable discussion on building safety last month – secured for him by Fabrick’s diligent account management and PR teams.

At Fabrick, we don’t just provide traditional marketing.
